Isn't an AI site good enough?
That depends on what you want out of your site. AI is capable of creating serviceable webpages, but there's more to websites than that. Outside of very simple static websites, AI generally leads to a lot of headache for a subpar result.
Plus there are some issues with AI sites...
Creation takes time, even with AI. You'll have to revise and regenerate the results multiple times to get close to what you want. You'll have to spend time getting your DNS set up and testing that everything works well enough. For businesses time is money, that time spent messing with an AI site-builder is time that could have been spent on your own business making a profit.
In the famous mental words of one Homer Simpson, "money can be exchanged for goods and services"; paying a professional to build your website frees you to spend your time on what's more important to you, while also receiving higher quality results.
Once your site is up, who is on the hook for updating and maintaining the website? Without a web
People can tell when something is made by AI and the sentiment is often that AI websites are "low effort" or even "untrustworthy". This results in lower conversion rates, reduced sales, and overall less engagement.
It isn't hard to see why either; you use AI to make a "faster", not "better". Would you trust a website focused on speed moreso than quality?
AI at its core functions based on likelihoods and frequency; how likely is this answer to be correct? How frequently is a code block used over another? What are the most common and popular colors, shapes, and layouts? Quite literally basing decisions on what's done the most, merging popular results together into blandness. This focus leads to AI "designs" feeling generic.
What happens when you mix all the sodas at a soda fountain together? Every flavor on its own has a distinct flavor... but all mixed together it just kind of tastes like sugar. It's edible, it serves its purpose, but it isn't good.

Claude Code
Felicia wanted a new website to replace her existing Gutenberg site, and started by working with Claude-Code to try to make something that would work. After many iterations and arguments with the AI, what you see here is exactly what she ended up with... but now what?
She needed to take her existing site down and replace it, somehow, with this... But she's trying to run her own business! Not mess around with a website! It already took way too long to get this far, and that's where RobotiDev stepped in.

What started as "What will it take to make this AI site live?" turned into "Forget the AI site, let's make a custom one!" so we got to work!
With an important event the next week, the site needed to be done and live before then. We had a week to do-it-all, and we did-it-all!
